My name is Jeanine Chin-Chan-Sen and this year i will be the Secretary / Vice President. I am a Psychology student at the Erasmus University Rotterdam and a dog mom of one. My hobbies include reading and swimming.

With so many differences in a new country as a first year international student, SSA felt like the place to find students who are experiencing the same. This influenced my decision to become an active member.

I look forward to highlighting the Surinam culture through experiences for anyone who is interested and hope to see you all at the future events!

Sanjana Ramawadhdoebe

Hi everyone,
My name is Sanjana Ramawadhdoebe and I am 19 years old. I am currently studying Biology and Medical Labratory Research at the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences.
I was born in The Netherlands and when I was 9, I moved to Suriname, where I lived for 9 years. Now I have been back in the Netherlands for a year. I spend my free time with family & friends and I also love traveling and watching series.
I have been a member of SSa for about a year. Last academic year, I contributed to the Career & Culture Committee as a committee member and this year I will take up the position of SSA’s Human Resources.

I made the choice to join SSA because I was a member of a youth club in Suriname where I also functioned as president for one year. I wanted to continue doing social work and I am eager to meet new people.
I hope that this year I can contribute to SSA with my experiences of recent years. My goal this year is tob ring the SSA members closer together and take recruitment to a higher level. I hope to see you at one of our events!

Rishita Ramnarain

I am SUPER exited tob e a part of the new board, to connect with other people, to learn from one another, and of course, to have lots of fun this year! Born and raised in The Netherlands with Surinamese roots, I missed the connection with my fellow Surinamese people while growing up, which is why I joined SSA last year. And, I am happy to tell you I really found my place within SSA!
I see as an association where everyone is welcome, no matter what background you are from. I want to continue developing this year, by making our social media platforms more personal. I want our members to feel engaged and seen! Let’s make SSA a communitywhere everyone feels welcome, together.

In my free time I like to travel, discover delicious restaurants and eat some good (!) sushi at my parttime job. I also love driving around and acting as personal driver for my sister… 😉 And, as the youngest memeber, my latest hobby is teasing my fellow board members!
I’m looking forward to getting to know all of you!
